Cosmic Hue Has Reached 100,000 Orders

On 23 August 2026 we passed 100,000 orders of Cosmic Hue. Fifth Ray is a UK nervous system company and Cosmic Hue is our caffeine-free, seven-plant formula, prepared with hot water as a daily ritual. The first of those orders were packed with my wife at our kitchen table.

It started from our kitchen table

I had just been made redundant from a tech job that paid well, and going all in on a herbal formula was not the sensible thing to do next. I did it anyway.

I had spent the previous few years working with plants in my own kitchen after my bowel perforation on Christmas Day in 2016, and it was the only thing I wanted to be doing.

The company was two people at that point, me and Gurj.

There was no warehouse and no office, so the orders got packed at home. My wife and I did that part together, on the kitchen table, in the evenings.

The early trips to the post office were a few small parcels at a time. Then it was a bagful. Then sacks, and the sacks came round faster than we could fill them.

Eventually there was more of it than a house could hold, so we moved to a fulfilment centre. From there, things have continued to grow and we’ve expanded our team to over ten people.

What this milestone means for Fifth Ray

A hundred thousand orders is a hundred thousand times somebody chose to make Cosmic Hue a part of their day. That is the only thing about the number that interests me.

Back at the start, the question I heard most was a reasonable one. "What makes it different to any other herbal tea?" A few people told me the idea was mad, and they had a point.

We were asking people to change something they already do every morning, and that is a much bigger ask than getting someone to try a new drink once.

The answer I gave then is the answer I would give now.

Cosmic Hue is seven plants, prepared with hot water. But the most important part is that you make it, you drink it slowly, and you pause for a moment before the day starts again.

Coherence is the word we use for what those few minutes are for. It means the state of wholeness where your mind, body, emotions and spirit are in harmony.

Cosmic Hue is an opportunity to work towards coherence once every day, in the morning, at midday instead of a coffee, or in the evening.
